Chris Baxter, 2nd Degree Black Belt (Karazempo), Certified Muay Thai (AFMTB), Former WKA North American Amateur Kickboxing Champion and WPKA Professional Middleweight Kickboxing Champion, Certified Crossfit Kettlebell Instructor, HKC
“Excellent experience. I arrived with hip, shoulder and back pain. On the first day after following the mobility exercises the hip pain went away, lower back is almost gone and shoulder is feeling better.
I now know what exercises I’m doing incorrect. I have lots of homework to fix moves I’ve been doing incorrectly for years.
Healing my injuries to continue my KB training, correcting my kettlebell moves, help me understand limitations of clients, I’ll use the mobility moves in my classes and got some easy and functional routines to use in class with my clients.
Andrea is a great instructor. She can see your mistakes easily and help you fix them. Andrea teaches you to heal the body for longevity.
I’ve done KB training with other certifications organizations and HKC. I’m certified in ECF Function Training (Bootcamp), Battle Ropes, Fitness INS, Indian Clubs, Fitness Kick Boxing to name a few. Andrea fixed some of the mistakes that the other KB organization gave me.
Compared to other fitness training Ageless Body is more education and great healing exercises for longevity. It was more than I expected.”
- Julio Anta, Hung Gar Master ,Muay Thai Instructor (Trans Muay Thai Association) Level 2, Battling Ropes, ISSA, HKC
Clear cues – knowledge beyond belief. Ability to create a program for anyone with the mobility portion into strength. Excellent load of information – I’ll be taking a week to go over it and then implement it into my programs w/ clients and myself. Was able to learn how to put together a set of mobility drills to work with for me personally. I feel like now have a ton of info in my back pocket. Really amazing cuing and extensive knowledge in how the body works.
Blakely Peterson, CNT Level 1 & 2, RKC I, HKC
“It was a fabulous experience for me, learning new practices for myself but also for my aging clients. Andrea possesses a vast and varied “tool Box.”
I love her hands on approach. She completely understands the human body and potential. She is clear and direct in her verbal cues and knows exactly how to mold someone into correct alignment through both verbal and “touch” cues.
I really thought this workshop was up there with some of the best workshops I have attended. Thank you!”
- Cecily Casey, RKC, Owner of North Shore Kettlebell Club
Helped open my joints, from my toes to my neck. My major interest was in the mobility portion, being able to help my athletes and myself reach our full capacities! Learning different KB exercises to strengthen my shoulders, hips and legs.
My experience was great. I picked up quite a few new mobility movements and kb exercises. It was great talking with others in class about experiences in so many different fields of work, athletics, and life.
Andrea has great knowledge in all these areas of kb, mobility and stretching. Her experience as an athlete that has been out the “field” doing helps with credibility.
MANUAL? “Yes – will use it”
-Jeremy P. Lang, HKC, Crossfit Box Owner, Pro Mixed Martial Artist, College Wrestler and Coach
Showing/explaining which muscles should fire when and why. Became more aware of exercises for my sport and not limiting my body to my sport. Eye opening learning experience. Has made my understanding of body and exercises better to make me a better coach. I have learned new exercises to do for different areas of softball.
Personally, I have learned the areas of my body that need to be fixed. Knowledge and understanding of her craft is exceptional. She takes the “macho” out of the teachings and is down to earth and real with clients. Understands everyone’s limitations and doesn’t judge.
The manual was extremely helpful.
-Tatiana Matthews, College Softball Coach, NFCA Coaches Association, Softball All-American
Focus on the importance of mobility for proper muscle recruitment, activation and efficiency of movement. Emphasis on safety when engaged in movements w/ and w/o load. Use of entire body to move the weight.
Excellent “slow motion” and breakdown of complex movement greatly enhanced my understanding of many of the exercises. The workshop stimulated my interest to further pursue my KB studies!
Much better overhead press, and awareness of my shoulder position in general. I was impressed on how much individual attention Andrea provided, and her very consistent feedback throughout her program. It’s very clear why she is a Master Trainer!
-Karim McDaniels, Former Pro Athlete (Canadian Football League), Wrestling, MMA, 100m and 200m Sprinter, Licensed Acupuncturist
OMG! I have discovered my body! Muscles that haven’t been used/tested in year are once again awake and asking for more attention Thought the seminar was very informative. A very extensive introduction to form, technique, and processes.
A good understanding of how my joints and body work to stabilize as well as enable a solid core. It could have been a couple of days longer…
Total understanding of problems and correction in dead lift, swings, getups with safety and alternative methods to work in different levels.
It improved my shoulder mobility.
Excellent instruction. Open to ideas and variations. Manual was good reference source. Small and subtle changes to improve stability. Form, posture, positioning.
-Dr. David Matthews
Learning how to connect flexibility & mobility issue to problems with skills (swings, deadlift, etc.) Rows!! Engaging rhomboids instead of just traps. A lot of great and helpful information in a short period of time. It was great to do a mobility drill then retest and see how your mobility changed.
Proper rows & better ways to work on my shoulder mobility. Andrea was an excellent instructor and very knowledgeable.
She helped each person and gave equal attention to everyone.
-Karen Smith, Senior RKC, RKC II, I, CK-FMS [Testimonial of Andrea's 4 Hour Intro Workshop]
Explanation – well articulated and easy to understand. Demonstration - broken down physical examples to reinforce.
Down and dirty to pain free and pre-emptive use of body and kettlebells.
Improved ROM – left shoulder.
Fairy dust and Jedi all in little package.
-Clint [Testimonial from Andrea's 4 Hour Intro Workshop]
Really cemented good form for deadlift and KB swing. Lots of helpful exercises for joint mobilization. Reminders of good athletic movement. Deadlift and swing with much better form. Got my head around how the getup works. Everyone needs the basics covered in this workshop. High quality and knowledgeable broken down in easy to understand steps. Manual was helpful.
-Russ Anteronen, Asst.High School CC & Track Coach, Master Sprinter
Improved significantly my understanding in how to improve the mobility of my shoulders. Improved significantly my understanding of the dynamics of the swing and clean. The teaching and screening evaluations was very informative in understanding where I need to improve and how aI can help others self-evaluate for improvement.
Andrea’s workshop is a fantastic tool for self-assessment of the limits of one’s fitness range. She then proceeds to provide a kit of tools for addressing these limitations so that one can improve upon them. She provided the necessary fundamentals to make me the best athlete that I can be.
The range of motion in my right shoulder improved significantly. Andrea corrected my plank and the alignment of my wrist to a neutral position. Also taught some interesting nuances in the Turkish Get up that helped to improve my form.
Andrea rocks! I liked the time (a luxury) allotted to learning really important techniques and skills that are often hurried through at the gym. I also learned the techniques of stretching.
-Karen Kurtz Swimmer, Track, Shotput, Karate, Sychronized Swimmer, Triathlete, HKC
I liked learning mobility and flexibility movements that deepened my understanding of how my body moves and on which areas I needed to work. Learning – in great depth and detail – movement patterns and which muscles are used, when they are used, and which muscles are not being used really helped me understand what I need to work on, and how to better help my clients.
This workshop has been a completely illuminating experience. I like to know why I’m doing something a particular way, and that was always explained at this workshop. I tend to ask a lot of questions, but did not this time because there was so much depth to the discussions of what we were doing and why.
I did presses without nagging shoulder aches. My hamstring, which had been a little sore, calmed down some. I believed I learned more about the hows and whys of the movements, and therefore, performed them more correctly and without pain.
Andrea is incredibly knowledgeable and explains things very clearly. All the smallest movements and adjustments are demonstrated, and there is ample opportunity to practice with feedback. She has numerous ways to come at a technique, movement or problem area and one of those is sure to be helpful.
Broke Down each part of the body into ways to achieve flexibility, mobility and strength.
Took time to make sure principles were completely understood. Showed ways to modify for any client skill/strength/mobility level.
Andrea knows her stuff! She has an amazing ability to break difficult skill down so they are easy to make teachable. There were things that I was able to do better after Andrea broke them down. She’s been around since the beginning and it shows. She takes the “macho” out of kettlebell training so it can be applied to anyone.
Manual “Absolutely” helpful
-Elise Matthews, RKC II, CK-FMS, Semi Pro/Collegiate Goal Keeper, Posture Analyst Specialist, Advanced FMS, MS Exercise Physiology
Very good experience, learned new details within the various exercises, drills that were covered to allow me to get the most out of them. Seeing how Andrea was able to pick up on the smallest of details and make corrections shall help me improve my coaching.
Great reinforcement of the deadlift and swing patterns which will help keep me in the proper position to avoid back soreness. Tying in the mobility work to the kettlebell work gave me some great ideas that I hope to apply to my swim coaching. It’s all connected.
Andrea has a great ability to find the little details that can totally change the way an exercise/movement is done. Has the ability to correct without making a person uncomfortable about the corrections. Seeing her perform the moves reinforces everything she is teaching – just a great instructor.
This was as good as any clinic I have attended. The two days all covered of more detail than was covered in the HKC I attended. I would encourage you to to continue to offer this as there are so many that can benefit. I really like that there were so many different levels of kettlebell experience in the people that attended. Helped show how you never have to adjust the teaching to each individual.
Mike Dorsch, Former Runner and Masters Swimmer and Coach
I will definitely walk differently with greater body awareness. The training and knowledge provided by Andrea was priceless. The corrections and explanation to what individuals like myself were doing incorrectly was comprehensive. Adjust and correcting for instabilities offered a great understanding of body awareness.
- Roxanne Wightman, Zumba, TRX Certified
“Andrea is a master of explaining the basics and showing how those moves apply to more advanced moves.
Andrea has an eye for detail that helps you understand what you are doing and why.
Andrea’s focus on form and biomechanics rather than competition provides students with a solid foundation for improvement and excellence in the future. Andrea practices what she preaches.
The Ageless Body Workshop is thorough and thoughtful with a clear purpose and integrated exercises and frills. Others seem more random.”
- April Spas, RKC
“This workshop is the best and most useful that I have attended. I’ve been to plenty of workshops in my fitness career and this tops them all!!
I found the flexibility drills, the modifications of what was shown and the friendliness and helpfulness of the group leaders useful. I believe that Andrea loves what she does and she lives it! It is wonderful to watch her teaching style – she does not set herself up and aloof – but very approachable.
She was not condescending but genuinely concerned and quite helpful. The quality of the presentations were second to non – scope of material was comprehensive but not over my head.
Practical use drills continue on with what I’ve learned and expect to be more youthful and vital in appearance and carriage. Thank you!
- Bonnie Murphy, ACE, AFAA Certified Personal Trainer and Alaska’s 2006 “Fitness Ambassador”
Learning from Andrea DuCane was a phenomenal experience. She is a master as a teacher and is exceptional at conveying information and understanding to all levels.
Excellent ability to teach beginner to advance participants at the same time offering great benefit to all. Extraordianry detailed instruction. The information and understanding that Andrea was able to convey was pure gold.
Many, many aha moments. Andrea is not only an exceptional instructor, she is genuinely nice, and devoted to teaching kettlebells to helping others. Unparalled! Learned great detail and breakdown of each exercise.
Excellent drills to teach correct movement. Learning the “correct” form of exercises I thought I was doing correctly.
-Karen Gallo, San Diego, CA
Fantastic. This was an extraordinary intro to kettlebell training. Andrea’s use of Z-Health and screens &FMR will be useful for my work & training immediately tomorrow & now. The highest quality. I can’t describe on how many levels this will benefit my life.
I realize I’ll have to really restructure my lifestyle and much of my thought process in order to create a platform for growth…BUT first a platform from which to expand (flexibility), change (mobility) and then to EXPLODE with new strength. There were moments in class that Andrea imparted these golden nuggets of wisdom that brought tears to my eyes because they contained wisdom that spoke directly to my heart (Z-Health).
I was able to stop when I was tired or overwhelmed or afraid or had a negative thought. In other workshop I’ve been injured because I didn’t feel safe to honor my limits.
- Zara Bell, Licensed Massage Therapist, ACE Certified Trainer
There were new ideas, reinforcement of things I had learned before. Great instruction. Broad scope. Good group interaction.
The training was invaluable. I learned how to modify several kettlebell exercises to allow me to perform them with good form and without rounding my back. I also learned that it is OK to use a chair or other support if needed for balance. Andrea gave everyone personal attention in a respectful manner.
There was much more on mobility training flexibility. I appreciated learning the fine points of the flexor stretch. The partner exercises were good for learning how to pack the arm and to pull down into the squat. The scope of material was beyond what I have experienced in the past.
